Long Island’s First Aikido Dojo

Woman Doing AikidoThe Long Island Aikikai is the premier Aikido Dojo on Long Island.  Established by Chief Instructor Edward Hagihara in 1964, our Aikido school is the oldest on Long Island. The mission of the Long Island Aikikai is to preserve and spread the peaceful martial art of Aikido as taught by Aikido’s founder Morihei Ueshiba. Students at the Long Island Aikikai train in the image of O’Sensei’s (Aikido’s founder) ideals; a harmonious environment devoid of competition and destructive aggression.
